President Abdel Fattah El Sisi welcomed Mrs. Georgia Meloni , He renewed his congratulations to her on assuming her position , During his meeting with the Italian Prime Minister , the President expressed his sincere appreciation for the extended bilateral relations between the two countries , and expressed his hopes that the Italian Prime Minister’s visit to Egypt would represent a force for developing bilateral relations.  The meeting dealt with a review of the latest developments in issues related to Mediterranean security , especially the Libyan file , where the two sides agreed on the need to work to preserve the unity and sovereignty of sisterly Libya , and to push for holding presidential and parliamentary elections , in addition to preserving the national Libyan institutions and Strengthening the role of the security authorities in combating terrorism , and the meeting also touched on the issue of the murder of the student “Regini” and ways of cooperation with the aim of reaching the truth of what happened , Visions were also exchanged regarding coordinating bilateral efforts to combat illegal immigration , in which the Italian Prime Minister praised Egypt’s efforts in this context , which contributed to preventing the exit of any illegal immigration boat from the Egyptian coast since 2016 , and ways to develop relations were also discussed. Economic , commercial and investment , as well as joint industrial cooperation with Italy and cooperation in the energy security file.

For her part , Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni affirmed her country’s mutual keenness to strengthen the bonds of joint cooperation with Egypt , which would open the way for construction and achieve the common interests of the two friendly countries and their peoples , stressing what Egypt represents for Italy and the entire European continent as a pillar , For security and stability in the Middle East and the Mediterranean Basin.
