Writer Fares Ghattas has finished writing his short film “The Journey”, which is scheduled to be shown on one of the famous platforms, and to participate in the Alexandria Short Film Festival 2023 competition, which is expected to be held early next year.
The short film is part of a thriller drama, starring a large group of young actors, under the supervision of director Mino Nabil, and the work sheds light on many stories of struggle of different types and images within Arab society.
The events revolve in a form of drama, where we find young people in the prime of life, trying in various ways to forge the path of excellence and move forward in society, and how hope is the title of success, and here one of them decides to complete his postgraduate studies at the university, prepares for a master’s thesis, and chooses to be the centerpiece of it. The path to success begins with spreading hope in the youth.
The work is scheduled to participate in the Alexandria Short Film Festival competition for the 2023 session, which is expected to be held early next year, where there will be more events, celebrations and special shows that celebrate films and workshops for making very short films, and encourage young people to attend workshops for the production of short films.
It is worth mentioning that the Alexandria Short Film Festival is a festival established by the Association of Art Circle in Alexandria, in order to provide an opportunity for filmmakers to present their works to the public, in the heart of the city of Alexandria to be a beacon of cinema in the world. The festival is held annually and its first session was in 2015.
The festival also aims to provide a suitable atmosphere for the exchange of experiences between filmmakers from all over the world and to provide the opportunity for short film makers to present their films, whether narrative, documentary or animation in front of the audience, with the aim of fruitful discussions between the film maker and the audience and provide a safe platform to present their work and harvest the output of their effort. The festival aims to develop and advance short films.
