The importance of physical fitness in the life of the individual and society

Physical fitness is a subject of great importance, as it results in obtaining a healthy and athletic body that can carry out all the tasks of life without exhaustion, effort, or suffering, because when caring about building the human body, he can practice his life normally, as well as he can accomplish  What he must do in terms of tasks and actions without feeling exhausted or suffering, so knowing all the specifications of physical fitness makes a person enjoy wonderfully good health, and he also becomes far from diseases resulting from malnutrition or from practicing wrong daily eating habits.

Physical fitness is not, as most people think, the muscle masses and prominent parts of the organs, as is customary in pictures of athletes, but physical fitness has a broader and more comprehensive concept than that, and we are here to clarify what is meant by physical fitness and its importance to the individual and society.

Meaning of fitness

Physical fitness: It is the attainment of the physical condition to an excellent level that enables it to perform its activities and all its tasks without feeling tired, exhausted or pain.

Likewise, physical fitness is the individual’s possession of a strong body that guarantees the individual’s performance of all his daily activities, in addition to his resurrection, as well as the practice of his vital hobbies and sports with all activity and efficiency, so that a person can deal with emergency circumstances that may occur to him in his life suddenly.

Method for measuring the level of physical fitness

The level of physical fitness is measured or determined by conducting several laboratory and mathematical tests through which the level of the individual is measured, in order to determine the level of physical fitness, and then reach the ideal level.

Types of fitness

General fitness

It is the ability of the individual to interact positively, as well as the extent of his continuous movement and the extent of his ability to carry out his tasks naturally, as well as to practice all his activities naturally and without any fatigue, suffering or assistance from any other person, and this is considered the minimum level of physical fitness.

Own physique

What is meant by it is the physical condition required for an individual’s ability to practice a particular sport, in addition to his daily activities.

What are the components of physical fitness?

Agility: It means the extent of the individual’s ability to move, move, and change direction in the shortest possible period.

Muscular strength: What is meant by it is the muscle’s ability to perform the highest amount of effort, and that depends on the muscle’s mass, size, flexibility, and the number of its fibers.

Flexibility: It is the ability of the individual to move easily in different directions and move between them with great ease, and this depends on the strength of the joints, the flexibility of the muscles, and the ability to continuously train.

Actual neural harmony: What is meant here is the individual’s ability to combine a group of movements at the same time.

Balance: It means the ability of the body not to fall for as long as possible, and that depends first on the soundness of the psychological state, the base of heaviness, and the organic safety from some diseases such as (the safety of the middle and inner ear).

Speed ​​of response: What is meant here is the extent of the individual’s ability to execute the command in a very short time, with successive orders that change direction, pattern, and speed, and depend on the integrity of the sense of hearing and psychological balance.

Movement speed: It means the time needed by the muscles to perform any physical activity in the shortest possible time, and therefore the muscles must be healthy, flexible and strong.

Methods for measuring health-related physical fitness

In order to measure physical fitness, this requires a set of accounts:

Measuring cardiorespiratory fitness by walking 1600m.

Measuring muscular fitness through push-ups.

Flexibility measurement by bending the torso forward while sitting.

Body Composition Measurement: Divide body weight by the square of height.

The importance of physical fitness

Physical fitness helps to improve the capabilities of the individual by providing him with many skills that enable him to quickly complete the tasks, and this will allow the individual to save time and do a set of work at the same time, which gives him the ability to earn more money.

We have noticed that people with great physical fitness are characterized by optimism, fun, moderate mood and a sense of happiness.

Where physical fitness works to provide the individual with many experiences, and this comes as a result of the self-confidence that he derives through his practice of sports, which in turn made him qualified to go through many experiments and actions.

Also, physical fitness gives us a wide range of friendships, and increases the network of social relations for the individual, through acquaintance through sports clubs or during the practice of various sports activities.

Physical fitness gives the individual freshness, luster, radiance, health and a healthy body as a result of following healthy and sound eating habits, and avoiding wrong eating and behavioral habits, for example, smoking.

Thus, I was able to explain to you the importance of physical fitness, whether in the life of the individual or society, and the extent of its impact on his health, capabilities, performance, and achievements in his work, as well as the extent to which the individual’s practice of sport affects his relationship with others, so we must always preserve our bodies, because it is a wealth from the Creator that He has given us.  To lead a dignified life in a safe and sound manner.
